Abstract:

The Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center Archives project seeks to preserve the knowledge gained from planning and construction of the Rutgers University system of transportation and ultimately provide a resource for future scholars, practitioners, and decision makers to understand the lessonsthat were learned by the first generation of transportation professionals. Abstract: Albert Huntington Chester, chemist, mineralogist, and mining engineer, was on the faculties of Hamilton and Rutgers College. Abstract: The papers of John K. Medoff document the business, academic, and civic affairs he was involved in throughout his adult life. Medoff began his own pest control business and through it, became highly involved with what became Cook College. Also active in pest control trade organizations, Medoff used his knowledge, savvy, and connections to help influence New Jersey state politicians. Dr. Leslie A. Stauber attended Rutgers as a student and later returned as a professor of zoology. He was prominent in the fields of zoology and microbiology and served on many boards and committees both within and outside of the university community.
